girlsdontcry's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Carry on It's amazing how much everything has just carried on. Buses, trains, even the Tube. My little picnic in Green Park was a little disrupted by sirens and a helicopter overhead, but when we realised it was just a fire (which turned out to be a at the Hard Rock Caf), we carried on as normal. There were definitely a lot more cyclists this morning than there were last Monday morning though. Maybe more than double. It said in the paper that even on Thursday afternoon people were buying loads of bikes, one shop said it had sold the same number on Thursday afternoon that it usually sells in a week. The strangest thing is just being at work, and feeling apologetic for carrying on working. Like if you have to email someone you don't feel like you can just launch into whatever it is you have to say without at first saying you hope they're OK (which is really just a way of saying you hope that they haven't lost anyone and won't think you're an insensitive prick for emailing them about work). I still haven't been back on the underground though, unlike some other braver souls. 1:54 p.m. - 2005-07-11 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
