girlsdontcry's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- identify I watched "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" and I really liked the beginning, where he's saying how when you're growing up you dream of being Albert Einstein or Joe di Maggio and then one day you wake up and realise that you already are what you're going to become and that it's not Einstein. And that script was by Charlie Kaufman, and I really loved the beginning of "Adaptation" where he's saying in his head that he will learn the oboe and learn Russian, and be the Russian-speaking oboe-playing writer. Because on my way to the theatre I'd really been thinking "I'm going to learn Russian". So, you know, I could identify. But then again, maybe that beginning of "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" was from the book anyway, so it's just a coincidence that two scripts written by Charlie Kaufman are things to which I can identify. Yeah. Um... I lost it when I got yet another inbox-crashing lot of photos of yet another friend's newborn baby. It's been one of those years, and I don't know, I really honestly don't want that, but if anything throws up how you're in different places than your friends it's when they send you pictures of them holding their newborn babies with their devoted husbands/boyfriends looking on admiringly. I mean, after that it's like I can no longer identify with them. If I ever could anyway. Yeah. Other than that, work sucked. And my colleague who knows that I look at a certain bulletin board all day shouldn't post on that board that he works for gobshites, or post asking about another publishing company.
