On the weekend, my life turned into the punchline for a Blonde Joke when I found myself in a pound shop asking how much something cost. And yes, a pound shop is a shop where everything costs �1.

I also made a lot of food, managed to insult a guest, salvaged the whole guest-insulting situation, then ruined it by insulting her boyfriend on the way out the door. Saw THAT rude arty movie with her, successfully predicted the 'Best In Show' at Crufts, did not successfully sleep after a too-late coffee here, which really was like being in Paris for a bit.
