girlsdontcry's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dry Dry skin, dry hair, dry eyes, everything is dry at the moment. I drink so much water, but my hands are like paper. I'm not a Catholic. No. Never have been, never will be. My mother, who is English, used to say lots of bad things about Catholics. You don't really hear people say a lot of good things about them, I suppose. Or protestants. My mother thought that religion was a good way for "stupid" (i.e. poor) people to have morals. Smarter people don't need religion to have morals, in her opinion. Anyway. On the list of things to be given up... alcohol, cigarettes, sex and drugs (I thought I should include them even though there's an almost non-existent chance of either coming up, but I need to decide now), sweets, chocolate, fizzy pop and maybe some other stuff. I think I will have chewing gum though, and coffee, and muffins, like if I want a muffin for breakfast. Yeah. No crisps though. What about popcorn? Mmm.. I'll have to think about popcorn. My Amazon stuff has been dispatched -- how excitement! It includes the new Dave Eggers book... which has had a couple of good reviews. I wasn't such a huge fan of "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius" as everyone else I know was, but I like what he does, so I'm going to read it. And Thomas Pynchon's "Gravity's Rainbow", which I feel that I'm destined to fail at reading, but which I'm going to have a go at anyway, mostly inspired by seastreet, who said in an entry something about it being a secret something, oh, I wish I could find that entry, but I can't. The more I worry about How To Live, the harder it gets, and I recognise it, but gee, it's hard to stop. I watched "Fearless" last night, I hadn't seen it for ages. And it's still really one of my favourite films, I just love it so much, why wasn't it like more famous? Oh oh, I wanted to say more about that too, but I have to go like RIGHT NOW.
