Oh wow, it was really so great. And I just read on Popbitch that someone was offering �150 for their ticket by a tout. So now I feel even better for being there. It was just like... you could tell so many people were just "wow, I can't believe it's really THEM". They mostly did the songs you really wanted to hear, except they didn't do The Reflex, and they also didn't do View to a Kill, which I would've loved. Oh man, Simon Le Bon is too funny, he was so camp. Also, he ripped apart a tambourine and flung it into the audience, and he blew a mouthful of water out. He seemed to be taking it all quite seriously, he was pretty good though. Although his dancing is... well, unique. Andy Taylor is in a completely different band to everyone else, drinking beer and smoking cigarettes like a lite version of Keith Richards. I really think he wants to be in Van Halen though, with propeller-arm guitar playing and whatnot. He seemed to be having fun. John Taylor is just as beautiful as he ever was. Um... not so sure that he's a really good bass player, but who cares! He seems like a nerd at heart (after all, he was christened Nigel). And Simon Le Bon kissed him on the lips. Yay! Roger Taylor -- he didn't really seem any different. And Nick Rhodes wasn't up to much, picking up bits of equipment and looking at them quizzically like they weren't working. It was really hard to hear the keyboards mostly though. The bass was really loud. Standout songs -- what you imagine, really. Rio was ace, so was Planet Earth, Is There Something I Should Know (even though they fucked up the beginning) ... even the cover of White Lines was great. Oh, wow, it was really so great. And tonight I'm going to see Frank Black. I'm knackered though and I have a head cold, but I'm going to do it.
